So don’t forget to Watch Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and have fun enjoy the show. I’m sure we’ll have fun to watch it. This week's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta dealt with enough drama with its cast (the aftermath of the Stevie J, Mimi, and Joseline therapy session that Jerry Springer would kill for, Rasheeda questioning K. Michelle's past with Memphitz, and Karlie Redd and Benzino's relationship problems) that it still didn't have enough room for certain scenes that didn't make the final cut. So Monday after the episode aired, VH1 released those three deleted scenes featuring more shenanigans from the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta crew that you probably didn't get a chance to see just yet.
Unlike last week's four clips, two out of the three released this week were irrelevant to the overall pace of Monday's episode and belonged on the cutting room floor. I will get to those in a minute. However, the other scene VH1 released featured Joseline speaking to her parents after the conversation she had with Dr. Jeff Gardere mentioning how they pretty much neglected her while she was growing up. Reality show clips featuring familial problems are always tough to watch, and this one was no different. With that said, I'm still wondering how Joseline's mother understood most of what Joseline was saying, but not reply in English...
The series also dominated social media Monday night, ranking as the most social show out of all broadcast and cable offerings that day. According to Trendrr, "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" reached a daily social activity score of 429,245 - beating sports events and non-sports series for primetime social engagement.
With its docu-soap "Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta," VH1 brings a southern tale of struggle, love and temptation to Atlanta, Georgia this summer. The new series proves love, music and the game know no boundaries. As the newest installment in the successful "Love & Hip Hop" franchise, "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" features an all new cast with their eyes on the prize of fortune, fame and family. New episodes will air Mondays at 8 PM EST on VH1.
Among the main characters in this 10-episode series are Stevie J, a three-time Grammy Award-Winning producer who has worked with artists such as Diddy, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey, Stevie's longtime girlfriend Mimi Faust, and a fiery up-and-coming Latina rapper named Joseline. There's no shortage of drama with this strong-willed trio. Also featured are Lil Scrappy, best known for his 2006 Smash hit, "Money in the Bank," his girlfriend Erica Dixon, and his mother, a former hustler known as "Momma Dee." The hometown hero, Atlanta rapper Rasheeda, is still searching for that big hit after years in the hip hop game, but she's constantly at odds with her manager Kirk Frost - who also happens to be her husband. Rounding out the cast are the talented songbird K Michelle, and Trinidadian R&B singer Karlie Redd.
While some of the women are defining themselves by the men they're with, others seem to have found their own voice and are attempting to empower themselves within this community. But the amount of arguing, swearing, and other inappropriate behavior featured here makes it hard to hear them.In the first episode, things get rather heated at a birthday party. With the criticism that VH1 is getting for some of these shows having altercations that quickly get physical, were you worried about associating yourself with this show?
K. Michelle: You know what? For me, I have my own issues. It’s very difficult for me to judge the girls on "Basketball Wives" or any of the women on "Mob Wives" or any of the women who are showing their lives on VH1. But what I did want to pay attention to is that I'm portrayed right. I’m not perfect in this show, by any means. The biggest things I wanted the producers to portray is not an innocent K. Michelle but an honest and real K. Michelle.
Tough stuff there. The producers probably cut the emotional scene due to K. Michelle's storyline taking the cake and the ice cream in the "Seriously Deep" department this week.
Now the tomfoolery, because Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta has a gravitational pull to such things in life as foolishness. This time is no different in this clip as Stevie J and Benzino continue their conversation in the strip club, which turned from clearing their minds of their relationship problems to... wanting to open up their own strip club, because Stevie is always looking for the next chick to turn into a "star."
